Your Role:

The Lead Software Engineer - Web Solutions will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and frameworks that enhance customer interactions across the SiriusXM platform. This position involves setting architectural standards and providing engineering guidance to ensure sustainable and manageable web solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in the architecture, development, and upkeep of SiriusXM's web applications and frameworks.
  • Serve as the main liaison with various teams, including Platform, Operations, and Media Engineering, regarding application architecture and infrastructure tasks.
  • Promote a customer-focused approach; collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from exploration to delivery and operation of scalable web solutions.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing information needs, understanding existing systems, and collaborating with users and partners to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements by working closely with other departments.
  • Design system specifications and architectural roadmaps to ensure the integrity and longevity of web solutions.
  • Create documentation, diagrams, and prototypes to illustrate solutions effectively.
  • Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for technical issues as needed.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks for custom applications, including debugging and applying updates.
  • Mentor fellow engineers to foster a culture of engineering excellence and collaboration across the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including after-hours support to meet business uptime requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 12 years of experience in developing web-based systems using JavaScript, React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role overseeing a team of engineers, alongside a strong background as a senior engineer or architect.
  • Expertise in architecting web experiences and frameworks utilizing backend services and microservices.
  • Experience in building and maintaining highly available systems for media and commerce.
  • Strong background in software architecture design and development processes.
  • Significant proficiency in JavaScript and modern web development practices.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of web analytics and networking principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various disciplines.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to customer service principles and the ability to project professionalism.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
