About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Video Player Engineer, Web to join our team at Fox Service Company. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing core video player features for consumer-facing applications across all of Fox's networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and Project Management, to build video player features that contribute to FOX video streaming initiatives.
  • Design, architect, and implement player features on Web and web-based platforms (Chromecast, Xbox, Vizio, Samsung Tizen).
  • Work on performance, scalability, security, architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical specifications and documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver software using agile methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest in emerging technologies/trends on web platforms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, NodeJS.
  • Experience building components to support video playback, user interfaces, video metadata, and third-party integrations.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing, and end-end testing.
  • Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, Agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with video streaming technologies (HLS).
  • Experience with video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, JW Player.
  • Experience with analytics platforms (Conviva, Segment).
  • Excellent documentation skills, UML diagrams a plus.
