Position Summary: In the role of Front-End Web Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing our online platforms and ensuring the effective operation of our IT systems. Collaborating closely with our marketing, sales, and operations teams, you will develop and maintain websites, address technical challenges, and introduce new features to improve user engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize responsive websites utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Work with the marketing team to implement and refresh website content, including e-commerce functionalities, product displays, and promotional content.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to website performance, hosting, and security.
  • Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Apply SEO best practices to enhance website visibility and search rankings.
  • Analyze website analytics and performance, providing regular insights and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and accessibility standards across all websites.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in web development and IT to suggest and implement innovative technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in web development, showcasing a strong portfolio of previous projects.
  • Proficient in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) and familiar with back-end technologies (PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails, etc.).
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Dutchie, Shopify, WooCommerce).
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, and security protocols.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the capability to collaborate with non-technical team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles.
