Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Support Specialist to enhance our patient care services at Emerging Tech, LLC. This role is pivotal in providing essential support to our nursing staff and ensuring optimal patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Assistance:
    • Support registered nurses in fundamental patient care tasks, including monitoring vital signs and aiding with patient mobility.
    • Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
    • Assist in gathering patient information and maintaining accurate documentation as directed by nursing staff.
    • Ensure cleanliness and organization of care areas, including restocking supplies and preparing treatment environments.
  • Patient Coordination:
    • Manage patient appointments and follow-up visits, optimizing schedules for timely care delivery.
    • Facilitate effective communication among patients, families, and healthcare professionals to address patient needs.
    • Assist in coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Documentation and Record Management:
    • Support the documentation of patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
    • Maintain and update patient records, including demographic data and treatment plans.
    • Assist in preparing reports and summaries as required by nursing personnel.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and copying documents.
    • Manage correspondence, ensuring messages are communicated to the appropriate staff.
    • Assist in maintaining office supplies and equipment for nursing staff use.
  • Patient Safety and Advocacy:
    • Support nursing staff in adhering to safety protocols, including infection control measures.
    • Advocate for patients by addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort and dignity.
    • Promptly report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments to enhance patient care.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning and quality improvement efforts.
    • Provide assistance to other healthcare team members as necessary.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Adhere to all organizational policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal standards.
    • Engage in quality assurance initiatives aimed at improving patient care.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant or medical assistant training program is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in a supportive role, is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
