About the Diesel Technician Role:
As a Diesel Technician at First Student, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of modern school buses, ensuring their readiness and safety while mentoring junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance checks.
- Diagnose and execute all aspects of vehicle and equipment repairs, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders.
- Assist with mobile emergency services as needed.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to obtain a CDL B during employment (training provided). A minimum of three years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience, or relevant technical school education, is required. Candidates should have their own mechanic's tool set and a willingness to participate in the ASE certification program.
Training, testing, and bonuses are provided. Please note that this position is subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
