Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Flight Test Engineer, you will be accountable for the strategic planning and execution of flight testing initiatives. This includes:

  • Coordinating all test program activities with various stakeholders including manufacturing, engineering specialists, and test site resources.
  • Ensuring the test article is configured correctly as per specifications.
  • Overseeing the availability of necessary test fixtures, specialized equipment, and personnel to support the planned evaluations.
  • Developing comprehensive Test & Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), detailed test plans, and associated documentation.
  • Conducting thorough pre- and post-mission reporting, and leading the execution of test missions from either the test article or the Mission Control Room.

Mission Coordination:
Responsible for the seamless integration of all mission aspects, including:

  • Scheduling and preparation of test sheets.
  • Running simulations and conducting mission rehearsals.
  • Collaborating with maintenance, engineering, safety, and support organizations to ensure a coherent and efficient testing process.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Aircraft Operating Limitations (AOLs), Flight Clearances, and relevant planning meetings.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, science, or a technology-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working collaboratively with technical teams.
  • Developmental Flight Test Experience.

Preferred Skills:
Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in customer interactions as a subject matter expert.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and configuration control.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule Network.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in flight test planning or scheduling.

Security Clearance:
This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Work Environment:
This role is performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility, with a standard work schedule of 4x10 hours, allowing for three days off each week.
