Substation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to join our design team at Meade Engineering, Inc. (MEI). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing high and medium voltage electrical distribution systems for large scale data center campuses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical codes and experience working independently, managing priorities, and providing mentorship to junior staff. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our team, clients, vendors, and external disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our clients' specific needs.

• Design high and medium voltage electrical distribution systems for large scale data center campuses.
• Oversee the production of one-line diagrams, conceptual designs, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding, specifications, and any additional drawings needed to complete a comprehensive set of construction documents.
• Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
• Major equipment selection and scheduling.
• Lead QA/QC process and sign off on engineering documents.
• Perform substation testing and commissioning as needed.

• 7+ years of Professional Substation Engineering design experience designing high/medium voltage power distribution, physical design, transmission line design, etc.
• Valid P.E. license and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working independently, managing priorities, and providing mentorship to junior staff.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes.
• Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives.
• Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated to work as a team and lead others.
• Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
