POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is tasked with organizing and overseeing client projects and assignments, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and mentoring team members to meet both client and personal development goals. This role will receive direction from Principals and Partners. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take primary responsibility for assigned client accounts
  • Oversee workflow and deadlines for clients
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of supervisors, in-charge accountants, staff accountants, and accounting assistants on assigned client work
  • Exhibit strong skills and experience in relevant technical areas
  • Complete engagements within budgeted timeframes; discuss any overruns with the client partner or principal
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to fulfill project components and assigned tasks
  • Establish working relationships at the peer client level
  • Document work thoroughly
  • Implement effective solutions for clients
  • Identify task-related issues and progress in a timely and organized manner
  • Make prompt and informed decisions regarding complex issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 6 years of public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA certification in good standing with the Accountancy Board

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Supervisors, In-Charge, Staff Accountants, and Accounting Assistants

Work Environment:

This position operates in a standard office environment, utilizing common office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily sedentary; however, some filing may be required, necessitating the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as needed.
