Position Summary
Under the supervision of a Licensed Professional (such as a Physician or Nurse Practitioner), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering patient care. This is achieved through systematic data collection and assessment, prioritizing patient needs, and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and analyze patient data, evaluate conditions, and collaborate with healthcare providers to establish and maintain comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff in collaboration with other medical entities, following the guidance of the supervising provider or manager.
  • Coordinate patient care with various healthcare professionals in alignment with the established care plan.
  • Administer medications safely, adhering to organizational policies and state regulations relevant to licensure.
  • In leadership roles, LPNs serve as clinical mentors and subject matter experts within the healthcare team.

Licensing and Certification Requirements
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the state of employment or LPN applicant status (mandatory)

BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (mandatory)

Education
No specific educational requirements

Experience
Preferred: 1 year of clinical patient care experience

Training
Preferred: EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
