About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at SSOE, Inc. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for leading companies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
  • Conduct detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
  • Devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate changes to the team.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
  • Participate in client contact and business development activities.
  • Meet with clients to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
  • Write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
  • Perform design work on REVIT.
  • Develop engineering concepts and presentations.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Stay current on new design methods and ideas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of Texas, is required.
  • PE or PE-tracked preferred, plus five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.
  • Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects experience is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain company insurance coverage required.
