Pre-Employment Transition Services Employment Counselor

Job Summary:
Tempus Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pre-Employment Transition Services Employment Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing pre-employment skills training and support to high school students with disabilities, with the goal of securing internships in competitive integrated settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach pre-employment skills to high school students with disabilities, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Develop and implement individualized career plans for students, including job placement and follow-up support.
- Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and employers to identify job opportunities and provide job coaching and support.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to students in competitive integrated settings.
- Document student progress and outcomes, including job placement rates and retention.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as human services, education, or social work.
- At least 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a vocational rehabilitation setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and community partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, with bilingual or multilingual skills a plus.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, and a strong understanding of disability-related issues.
- Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation services and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) system.
Work Environment:
This position requires frequent travel to schools, community organizations, and employer sites, with occasional evening and weekend work. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
