Electrical Department Supervisor Job Description

TowerPinkster, a leading architecture, engineering, and interior design firm, is seeking an experienced Electrical Department Supervisor to join our team in the Grand Rapids office. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering team, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to team members.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve project efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the department manager and other supervisors to create an effective leadership team and drive process improvements.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including client relationships, project pursuit, and networking.
  • Ensure the clear understanding of project scope, roles, expectations, and deadlines.
  • Lead and coordinate project efforts with other disciplines, clients, and construction partners to meet schedule milestones.
  • Assist the manager with quality checks and ensure the reviews of all projects.
  • Develop and implement techniques for improving project procedures and production standards.
  • Define the scope of work and determine budget targets.
  • Provide project management, design expertise, and contract administration for select projects.
  • Conduct field assessments, design analysis, and perform site visits.
  • Create and write reports and presentations to clients.
  • Perform as Project Manager on mechanical driven projects.
  • Lead and coordinate project efforts with other disciplines, clients, and construction partners to meet schedule milestones.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional licensure and additional certifications preferred.
  • 15 years' experience in the A/E industry, with 10+ years leading project teams.
  • Revit experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of A/E construction documents and the construction industry.
  • Ability to lead and support a talented team with great interpersonal skills and mentorship skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work positively and effectively in a project team environment.
  • Participation in professional organization memberships.
