Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and schedule electricians to ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate with other department supervisors to ensure seamless execution of work
  • Approve employee vacations, sick leave, and personal leave requests
  • Respond to emergency situations and direct the activities of the work force
  • Inspect and audit electrical storage and equipment areas to ensure safety and security
  • Attend meetings, provide memos, and follow-up documentation as necessary
  • Administer and ensure compliance with work rules and union contracts
  • Monitor work progress, efficiency, and compliance with safety procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Five years of experience in the electrical field with quantifiable experience in industrial, commercial, residential, and maintenance work
  • Three years of supervisory experience directly related to the electrical trade with emphasis on high voltage and distribution systems
  • State of Michigan Master Electrician license
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution, preferably in electrical engineering, management, or related field
  • Knowledge of electrical theory principles and familiarity with power plant operations
  • Understanding of occupational hazards associated with voltage distribution equipment
  • Management and/or maintenance experience associated with conveyance systems
