Strategic Communications Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Director to lead our internal and external communications efforts. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our organization's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a content strategy that showcases our organization's impact and expertise.
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to craft compelling messages and communications materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with staff and stakeholders to ensure effective internal communications.
- Design and implement a strategic internal communication plan that engages and informs our team.
- Adapt to the CEO's tone and voice for various communications, ensuring consistency and authenticity.
- Create and maintain promotional collateral for external audiences, including press releases, speeches, and social media content.
- Ensure quality control of all communications as Editor-in-Chief, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Develop and execute media strategies to tell our organization's story and expand our media relations across broadcast and print media.
- Craft executive voice for key moments, including Op-Eds and high-profile visits.
- Stay informed on public affairs to write relevant content and provide strategic counsel to the CEO and senior leadership team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote programs, fundraising, advocacy, and events.
- 8-10 years of leadership experience in writing and communications, with a strong track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as communications, journalism, or public relations.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt to the CEO's tone and voice.
- Proven ability to develop and measure communication plans and strategies, with a strong understanding of social justice issues and empathy for the community's lived experiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to convey the mission persuasively, with a passion for creating compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Advanced knowledge of communication technologies and best practices, with proficiency in MS Office suite and preferred experience with HTML, CSS, WordPress, Google Analytics, Salesforce, Pardot, and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
