Position Overview

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is currently seeking a Project Manager (Engineer) - Combustion Turbine for a flexible hybrid work arrangement.


Role Summary

The Combustion Turbines Engineer will serve as a key technical resource, providing engineering support, project management, and oversight for combustion turbine generator units. This role involves collaborating with power plant personnel to ensure effective planning, execution, and documentation of maintenance events, inspections, and repairs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field testing and engineering analysis to enhance equipment performance and reduce operating costs.
  • Diagnose and resolve operational challenges, offering engineering solutions to optimize performance.
  • Analyze power plant data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through operational adjustments.
  • Manage capital projects across various energy generation sites, including gas, wind, solar, and fossil fuel.
  • Supervise contractors engaged in project work.
  • Prepare project budgets and schedules, monitoring financial performance.
  • Facilitate project authorization requests and participate in senior leadership meetings as necessary.
  • Lead the development of project scopes, evaluating design options and recommending suitable systems and materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Relevant engineering experience in the energy sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in power generation, with expertise in combustion turbine technology and maintenance management.
  • Familiarity with GE frame 7FA/7EA heavy-duty combustion turbines and Pratt & Whitney FT4 aero-derivatives.
