Job Title: Payroll Specialist
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing payroll, managing employee data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Compile and input employee time and payroll data, ensuring information is complete and accurate
* Calculate employees' time worked, car allowances, reimbursements, and other related items
* Process wage deductions, including garnishments and associated paperwork
* Handle benefit withholdings, such as 401(k) contributions
* Maintain and update prevailing wage information
* Research and resolve questions from managers and employees regarding payroll processing, including garnishments, reimbursements, direct deposits, prevailing wage rates, retroactive pay calculations, and tax inquiries
**Requirements:**
* 3+ years of experience in a payroll processing environment
* Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) is preferred
* Understanding multi-State payroll, job costing, and union payroll a plus
* Associates or Bachelors degree in business/Accounting (or comparable experience)
