Game Design Director

Riot Games is seeking a highly skilled Game Designer to join our team as a Sr. Manager, Game Design. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing the player experience, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and working with every tool at hand to create innovative, player-focused designs.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and improve mechanics and systems that satisfy players and further solidify the game concept.
- Lead cross-disciplinary teams to build systems and mechanics that achieve product goals.
- Manage a small team of combat designers to help them achieve product goals and develop their design skills.
- Create and provide multiple potential designs and solutions, articulating trade-offs and risks between different options.
- Playtest the game and help push for continued improvements for existing designs and fresh prototypes.
- Seek opportunities for new design spaces in collaboration with Product Managers and Design Leadership.
- 8+ years of experience in professional Game Design.
- 4+ years of experience managing a Game Design Team.
- 4+ years of experience in either Combat Mechanics or Combat Feel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scripting in at least one engine in a shipped title.
- Shipped or worked on at least one AAA+ online game.
- Ability to create complex mechanics and systems with attention to the player impacts and downstream effects.
- Deep level of understanding of multiplayer PvP games.
- Experience working on a live product.
- Experience designing AI/combat NPCs, Social Systems or Monetization.
- Familiarity with the LoL IP.
