Riot Games is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Combat Game Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging and deep combat systems that meet the needs of our players.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a holistic vision for combat that is engaging, deep, and supportive of the game's other systems.
- Oversee the development of combat mechanics and systems, ensuring they meet product goals and player expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement combat features and systems.
- Playtest the game and provide feedback to ensure combat systems are fun, engaging, and balanced.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in combat game design.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in professional game design, with a focus on combat mechanics and systems.
- 3+ years of experience in either combat mechanics or combat feel, with a specialization in FPS games.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scripting in at least one game engine.
- Experience working on at least one AAA+ online game.
- Ability to create complex mechanics and systems with attention to player impact and downstream effects.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working on a live product, with a focus on combat systems and mechanics.

Compensation:
Base salary range between $176,400 to $245,700 + incentive compensation + equity + 401(k) with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
