Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. This role plays a pivotal part in the acquisition of top talent for our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assists in organizing and attending recruitment events, career fairs, and campus interviews.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process by posting job ads and utilizing ATS.
  • Attracts, screens, interviews, and onboards qualified candidates who align with the company's values, culture, and objectives.
  • Partners with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop comprehensive recruitment plans.
  • Sources candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media platforms, networking events, and employee referrals.
  • Reviews resumes and applications to identify potential candidates who meet the job requirements.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of candidate information and recruitment activities using our ATS.
  • Conducts preliminary screenings to assess candidate qualifications, answers basic questions, and provides information about the company and the position.
  • Coordinates and schedules interviews with hiring managers and other stakeholders.
  • Stays informed about current trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Participates in employer branding initiatives to enhance the company's reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Creates and develops recruitment flyers and advertisements.
  • Prepares new-employee files.
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Assists with new hire onboarding process.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Proven experience as a recruiter or in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes and best practices.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and other recruitment software.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and related software.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and travel occasionally, particularly for recruitment events and meetings.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • SHRM-CP credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using cell phone device/apps, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must have ability to drive personal vehicle, or occasionally fly to neighboring islands, to attend meetings and recruitment events.

Job Type:

Full-time, Monday - Friday, occasional nights and weekend shifts to attend hiring events.

Pay:

Starting at $22.00/hour, depending on experience.
