Position Summary
The Senior Instructional Coach plays a pivotal role in delivering specialized support to educational institutions in key subject areas. This position is integral in fostering educational equity by collaborating with educators, school leaders, and district personnel to develop a robust support system for teachers and instructional leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support in content knowledge, teaching strategies, data interpretation, and instructional coaching to enhance teacher performance and student success.
- Work closely with an assigned Executive Director or regional team to ensure cohesive curriculum alignment across various educational settings.
- Represent the district's educational philosophy in all facets of professional development, coaching, and curriculum guidance.
- Implement effective coaching cycles and methodologies, such as Cognitive Coaching and Content-focused Coaching, to promote teacher reflection and growth.
- Deliver constructive feedback to educators and instructional leadership teams to improve instructional practices.
- Facilitate professional development sessions for teachers and instructional leaders, including evening and weekend training as necessary.
Data Utilization
- Leverage data to inform action plans and improvement strategies.
- Utilize district and campus data to guide the focus and content of professional development initiatives.
- Model and promote various formative assessment techniques to support data-driven instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues and district leadership to ensure effective curriculum implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field; Master's degree is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in content knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficient in technology and its application within educational settings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design and deliver professional development tailored to adult learners.
- Capacity to work independently across multiple grade levels.
