The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill a Vocational Construction Educator role. This position is situated within a correctional facility.

Position Responsibilities

This role involves designing and executing a comprehensive educational program focused on the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) tailored to meet the specific vocational needs of students. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of student progress and maintaining all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring student behavior and providing effective classroom management.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and contributing to collaborative efforts.
  • Offering specialized instruction and training as needed.
  • Acting as an advocate for students and ensuring compliance with administrative regulations and agency policies.

Compensation and Benefits

This position falls within a designated pay schedule/range, offering an annual salary of $31.82, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be determined in accordance with the Compensation Plan and applicable regulations at the time of hire. A probationary period is mandatory.

Application Requirements

Applicants must possess legal authorization to work in the United States. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screenings, and any candidate offered a position requiring such screening must successfully pass it as a condition of employment.

Criminal background checks will be performed on all applicants prior to selection. New employees will also undergo fingerprinting upon hire.

Remote work is not available for this position.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements: (All three are mandatory)

  • Possession of a Journeyman or Master's License in a relevant trade.
  • A minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in the specific field being taught, with at least 1 year (2,000 hours) within the last 5 years.
  • A High School Diploma.
