Job Summary

The Department of Corrections is seeking a skilled Construction Teacher to develop and implement a program of professional educational services in Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) to students in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a program of professional educational services in MC3 to students
  • Complete all required documentation of student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffing and meetings, and serve as an effective interdisciplinary team member
  • Provide training to others and engage in specialized instruction and projects upon request
  • Serve as a student advocate and comply with the department's administrative rules and the agency's policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Journeyman or Master's License in one of the trades
  • Minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment
  • High School Diploma
