About the Role

Amazon Connections is an innovative program that empowers Amazonians to provide feedback on the workplace and shape the company's future.

As a Software Development Manager in Connections, you will have technical ownership of critical product development and lead a talented team of engineers to create innovative technology that transforms organizational management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead an engineering team to build, operate, and maintain software that meets business needs.
  • Manage day-to-day activities within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Hire, coach, and mentor individuals.
  • Work closely with engineers to architect and develop technical designs.
  • Report on development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
  • Help develop long-term development and business technology strategies.
  • Partner with Product to deliver the right thing for customers.

The Connections Software team combines the culture of a startup, the innovation of an R&D Lab, and technical challenges at Amazon's scale.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company.

Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
