The Finance Manager for Plant Operations plays a pivotal role at Johns Manville, serving as the leading financial authority and an integral member of both the site and division finance teams. This position is responsible for thorough analysis of financial and operational metrics, spearheading initiatives to uncover cost-saving opportunities, and working closely with the plant leadership to enhance focus on efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and monitor relevant performance indicators, fostering a culture of accountability to enhance financial outcomes, while assisting the plant manager with cost efficiency projects.
  • Oversee and mentor a finance analyst, ensuring professional development and effective performance.
  • Guarantee precise monthly financial reporting to the plant manager, staff, and division stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of monthly operational results, identifying sources of variability, inflationary pressures, productivity levels, and any anomalies.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Administer the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
  • Assess the financial implications of capital expenditure initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the finance function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead cost reduction and productivity enhancement programs while engaging stakeholders in transformation efforts.
  • Expertise in developing and utilizing performance-based metrics and scorecards.
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills with suppliers and third-party vendors.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing-level accounting systems, including payroll, accounts payable, inventory, and general ledger.
  • Familiarity with best practices in finance, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles, along with inventory management knowledge; certification or formal training is advantageous.
