Overview
The United Way of McPherson County (UWMC) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in the region. We are seeking a visionary leader to guide our organization, which serves a diverse community of approximately 30,000 individuals across various townships and cities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in community leadership and organizational management.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Board to achieve the organization's mission through a comprehensive strategic plan.
  • Develop actionable plans and metrics to monitor progress toward strategic goals.
  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring accountability for performance and milestones.
FUNDRAISING, COMMUNICATIONS, AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH
  • Create engaging opportunities for donors, volunteers, and advocates to support meaningful causes.
  • Strengthen and diversify funding sources, setting fundraising objectives and involving staff and Board members in advocacy efforts.
  • Conduct public speaking engagements and community outreach to enhance visibility and support for the UWMC.
  • Clearly communicate the mission, values, and initiatives of the UWMC through various channels, recognizing contributions from donors and partners.
MANAGEMENT, FINANCE, AND ADMINISTRATION
  • Ensure efficient and professional management of daily operations and programs, adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Maintain the organization's financial health by following a Board-approved budget and ensuring transparency in financial matters.
  • Oversee annual campaign reconciliations and manage pledge receivables.
  • Establish partnerships with local and regional organizations to enhance community impact.
  • Support the planning and execution of UWMC-sponsored events and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and reporting requirements.
BOARD ENGAGEMENT
  • Familiarize yourself with and promote the organization's Governance Policies; develop and implement policies and objectives.
  • Coordinate Board activities, including meeting agendas and reports, in collaboration with the Executive Committee.
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting new Board members to strengthen community connections.
PARTNER AGENCY COLLABORATION
  • Foster mutual respect and collaboration between UWMC and Partner Agencies.
  • Establish clear performance expectations for agency compliance.
  • Facilitate an efficient allocation process to advance community impact outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, social sciences, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a non-profit or relevant environment; familiarity with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with advanced education in non-profit management or human services, leadership experience, strong community ties, and bilingual skills.
