Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Operations Manager to oversee and manage operations for our NorthStar Clean Energy Solar project. The successful candidate will ensure all aspects of the solar project run efficiently, acting as the representative for overall site performance and providing oversight on maintenance and troubleshooting complex issues with the solar system and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe, timely, accurate completion of all work orders, Planned Maintenance (PM) work orders, predictive maintenance, and outage work.
  • Write and administer Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of site, access roads, substation, O&M building or office trailer, and other site areas.
  • Perform inspections and support troubleshooting on solar plant either scheduled or unscheduled.
  • Replace mechanical and electrical components.
  • Operate High Voltage and Medium Voltage breakers and switches.
  • Oversee work performed by contractors.
  • Interface with regulatory officials, landowners, community leaders, and other project stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with all NERC, FERC, and other regulator requirements, including submission of reports and filings as required.
  • Coordinate with corporate compliance department to maintain up-to-date standards of operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or related discipline with a minimum of four (4) years' of applicable experience.
  • OR Associate degree in a technical field or related discipline with a minimum of six (6) years of applicable experience.
  • OR High School Diploma with a minimum of eight (8) years of applicable experience.
  • Master's Degree in a technical or related field preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician certification preferred.
  • 4+ years' experience executing general plant maintenance preferred.
  • Renewable energy experience required (Solar or Wind).
  • 2+ years' supervisory experience required.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a power plant environment, both indoors and outdoors, and will be required to work hours necessary to support the operating plant requirements, including overtime when needed. Occasional local and out of town travel for business and partnership meetings and other plant and fleet objectives may be required.
