Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and enforce safety regulations and practices.
  • Review blueprints to ascertain structural dimensions.
  • Organize the layout of the worksite as necessary.
  • Plan the sequence of operations related to the construction and assembly of structures.
  • Delegate tasks to workers, including material cutting, form building, and framework erection.
  • Inspect the quality of work performed by team members.
  • Supervise the construction of timber structures such as cofferdams and supports for concrete forms.
  • Analyze production schedules and estimate labor hours needed for project completion.
  • Adjust work procedures to align with production timelines.
  • Propose improvements to enhance production methods, equipment efficiency, and product quality.
  • Identify and resolve work-related issues, assisting team members in problem-solving and motivating them to meet project goals.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect necessary materials.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the equipment utilized on-site, including its limitations and intended use.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years' experience as a superintendent is essential.
  • Experience in bridge construction is a must.
  • A proven track record in heavy civil bridge and roadway projects is required.
  • Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) and City/County projects is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel is expected.
  • Strong grasp of budget management and job cost reporting.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and a strong commitment to safety are essential.
