The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary department, overseeing daily kitchen operations and providing guidance to kitchen staff. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their culinary skills and understand the importance of a delightful dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit and train kitchen staff, including Line Cooks and Dishwashers, under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Director.
- Manage inventory by placing orders for food and supplies.
- Conduct safety audits and facilitate monthly training sessions.
- Ensure proper presentation of dishes before they are served.
- Monitor kitchen labor and food costs, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Prepare high-quality meals that meet our standards.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; culinary training is preferred.
- Previous experience in a leadership role is advantageous.
- A valid Manager's Food Handlers permit is necessary; assistance may be provided.
- Experience in customer service or office environments is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
