About the Role:
LanceSoft is seeking a detail-oriented Copyright Registration Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our global workforce solutions team, you will be responsible for examining and registering audio and audio-visual products with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and register audio and audio-visual products with the U.S. Copyright Office using the eCO system.
- Review artist and license agreements to determine copyright ownership and registration responsibility.
- Search the U.S. Copyright Office website and internal databases to identify pre-existing copyrighted works.
- Research and report copyright notice discrepancies to the Associate Director and record label contacts.
- Create copyright memos with notes for each release.
- Handle registration application questions from the U.S. Copyright Office.
- Follow up with the U.S. Copyright Office regarding copyright certificate status.
- Provide copyright registration information and copies of certificates for internal requests.
Requirements:
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to successfully utilize multiple programs simultaneously.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in music.
- Available to work overtime as needed.
- Paralegal and/or legal support staff experience.
- Interest in and basic understanding of U.S. copyright law and the copyright registration process.
- Experience in reading and interpreting recording/music agreements and contracts.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
