Client Engagement:
Our clientele spans from input suppliers to farmers, food and beverage manufacturers, and retail organizations, including collaborations with governmental and public sector entities to deliver a broad spectrum of solutions.

We engage with diverse sectors, including arable, horticultural, and livestock, while also exploring other land use domains.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Minimizing climate impact and supporting the transition towards Net Zero.
  • Enhancing resilience to climate change through risk assessment and adaptation strategies.
  • Promoting sustainable water usage.

  • Evaluating the environmental and social implications of evolving crop production practices in European agriculture.

This role will specifically focus on bolstering our climate and water service offerings, with opportunities for involvement in business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Our projects are typically short-term (less than 6 months) and tailored to meet client requirements. We seek adaptable individuals who are enthusiastic about addressing a variety of challenges to support our team's growth.

Sales Responsibilities:
- Spearheading the development of sales and business in areas of expertise, particularly in water or climate change mitigation.
- Generating and pursuing sales leads.
- Crafting customized approaches to fulfill client needs.

Delivery Responsibilities:
- Project management and leading the high-quality execution of client projects through precise data analysis and comprehensive written outputs, alongside providing technical insights into climate impact and resilience projects.

Potential Activities Include:
- Evaluating GHG emissions from agricultural raw materials, with a strong grasp of GHG Protocol standards for emissions assessment.
- Developing tailored emissions calculators (requiring advanced Excel skills and some familiarity with computer modeling).
- Supporting various projects within the agricultural sector, including rapid evidence assessments, roadmap development, and strategic planning.
- Assisting in the creation and operation of sustainable water use models, particularly in model development and data analysis.

Senior consultants are expected to lead project delivery and manage complex assignments.

Marketing Responsibilities:
- Drafting articles for the website, participating in events and conferences, and preparing content for promotional materials.
- Senior consultants should be ready to present at events and webinars.

Candidate Profile:
- BSc qualification in a relevant discipline (agriculture, biology, geography) or equivalent experience.
- Additional qualifications such as a master's degree or PhD are advantageous.
- Full UK driving license.
- Relevant experience post-university in consultancy, industry, or policy settings.
- Practical experience on-farm (crop or livestock) is a plus.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Agricultural Production: Strong understanding of UK agricultural systems (crops or livestock) and the key sustainability challenges they face, including soil, water, and biodiversity.
- Climate Mitigation: Knowledge of factors influencing GHG emissions and carbon sequestration in agricultural systems.
- Sustainable Water Use: Understanding of crop water needs, irrigation systems, livestock water consumption, and water footprinting.

Skills and Attributes:
- Rigorous approach and attention to detail in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to convey messages clearly to diverse audiences, often non-technical.
- Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint for creating engaging presentation materials (assessed during recruitment).
- Strong quantitative/mathematical and Excel skills (assessed during recruitment).
- Expertise in manipulating complex datasets (climate, water, farm data) using programming languages (e.g., R, Python) for data analysis and modeling.

Communication and Project Management:
- Professional demeanor when engaging with various audiences, ensuring clear communication through emails, video conferencing, and in-person meetings.
- Organized and capable of leading complex projects under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects effectively.

Contract Management:
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant management of contracts.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is negotiable based on experience, with a range of £32,000-£42,000 plus performance-related bonuses.
