Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Berry Global. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. This is a regular full-time position that requires a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplify the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times, leading by example and exhibiting professionalism in all areas.
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance personnel and mold technicians to maintain all equipment in top working order.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optic systems.
  • Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired, determining required parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
  • Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls, replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears, and related equipment.
  • Communicate with other plant personnel to review deficiencies and accurately log all work performed.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner, operate a forklift safely and efficiently, and perform PMs, cleans, and lubricates molding machines and equipment.
  • Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment, perform mechanic skills, and visually inspect and solve problem machines and equipment.
  • Measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation, document repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, and perform other incidental and related duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, technical school, or an accredited technical institute or combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to work effectively with little supervision, as a self-starter, in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
