Position Overview

AECOM is seeking an Aviation Project Construction Supervisor to join our team.

ROLE SUMMARY

This position entails overseeing all construction phase services for various aviation and airfield projects, ensuring adherence to established project documentation and organizational policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage construction contractors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely execution of all construction-related services in line with project specifications.
  • Ensure thorough inspections by relevant authorities and project inspection teams during construction activities.
  • Coordinate and schedule construction tasks, inspections, and testing with contractors, stakeholders, and other involved parties.
  • Conduct design assessments focusing on constructability, staging, and construction methodologies.
  • Review project schedules for accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor contractor resources and progress against established schedules.
  • Collaborate with planning and operations teams to align project activities with organizational objectives.
  • Evaluate and verify progress payments for construction contractors.
  • Proactively address issues to mitigate client risk.
  • Work to prevent claims and resolve any disputes swiftly to minimize client exposure.
  • Utilize approved project management software to oversee project execution.
  • Supervise and ensure rectification of any non-compliant work.
  • Assist in the development and negotiation of change orders, claims, and adjustments to project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding contractor scope modifications.
  • Ensure project completion within budgetary and scheduling constraints.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license and ability to obtain necessary certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or Construction Management.
  • At least ten years of experience managing aviation or airfield construction projects of comparable size and complexity.
  • Certification as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) from CMAA is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
