Recreation Therapist Opportunity

Minds in Motion Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) in the Salem area. We are seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of our programs.

Job Summary

The Recreation Therapist will be responsible for designing and implementing meaningful programs for our participants, in collaboration with clients and the Director. This role requires a creative and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about enhancing the lives of others.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily activities that cater to the needs and interests of our participants.
  • Collaborate with the Director to build quarterly activity calendars that align with resident needs.
  • Participate in team meetings to plan programs and ensure effective communication with clients, families, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, evaluations, and program outcomes.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and staff.
Requirements
  • Certification in Recreational Therapy is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injury is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
