We are looking for a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our travel team. The selected candidate will deliver both treatment and diagnostic respiratory services to patients and their families across various clinical settings within UW Health, including:
- Intensive Care Units
- Emergency Departments
- General Care Areas
- Perioperative and Procedure Areas
This role necessitates strong clinical assessment abilities and the capacity to make informed clinical decisions while adapting care based on established protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Serve as a resource for physicians and healthcare professionals, ensuring that orders align with organizational policies and procedures.
- May take on the role of Charge Therapist, overseeing the adequacy of respiratory care staffing in patient care areas.
- Facility Requirement: Candidates must maintain a permanent residence outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
- Experience: A minimum of two years as a staff therapist is required.
- Preferred Experience: Pediatric and adult care experience is highly desirable.
- Previous Experience: Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center or a similar facility is preferred.
- Traveler Experience: Prior experience as a traveling therapist is advantageous.
- Licensure: Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Wisconsin.
- Education: Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited program.
- References: Two completed references from recent supervisors or managers are required.
Travelers may be assigned to various units based on current staffing needs, including shifts with children up to one year of age. If the primary unit's needs change, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
