Respiratory Care Specialist

At AdaptHealth LLC, we are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our customers.
Job Summary:The Respiratory Care Specialist will be responsible for patient set-ups, educational responsibilities, and responding to patient needs in a timely and professional manner. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide patient care and communicate with branch managers and other personnel to address any issues or recommendations.
- Provide clerical support with daily activities, including scheduling appointments, providing telephone coverage, and interacting with patients and walk-ins.
- Perform patient setups in patient's homes, offices, or clinics, as allowed by state regulations.
- Educate patients and caregivers on how to troubleshoot and properly care for their equipment.
- Process new referrals for oxygen patients and follow up on orders when patients meet qualifications through oximetry testing.
- Successfully troubleshoot concentrator and other equipment problems over the phone.
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement in systems and processes.
- Work with drivers and logistics for coordination of orders and urgent requests.
- Collect patient financial responsibility prior to processing new supply tickets.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of work-related experience in healthcare administrative, financial, or insurance customer services, claims, billing, call center, or management.
- Exact job experience is considered any of the above tasks in a Medicare-certified HME environment that routinely bills insurance.
