Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our Hammond team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our extrusion equipment, ensuring high-quality production and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Start-up, changeover, shutdown, and daily operation of the extruder machine.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and identify defects during operation, and notify appropriate personnel of any issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and correct problems on the machine, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Documentation: Use a computer to enter valid information and print out roll labels.
  • Quality Testing: Perform routine quality testing on product to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including the equipment.
  • Safety Procedures: Follow company safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attendance: Maintain regular consistent attendance.
Requirements
  • Strong Commitment: Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math, take accurate measurements, and use hand tools.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Teamwork: Strong interpersonal and team skills to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Previous Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for 12 hours.
