Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team at the Hammond plant. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating molding machines and automation, inspecting and packaging molded parts, and monitoring and recording acceptable and scrap parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operations: Operate molding machines and automation to produce high-quality plastic parts.
  • Execution of Mold Set-Ups: Set up molds and equipment to ensure efficient production.
  • Inspection and Packaging: Inspect and package molded parts to meet quality standards.
  • Monitoring and Recording: Monitor and record acceptable and scrap parts to optimize production.
  • Basic Machine and Equipment Alarms: Answer basic machine and equipment alarms to ensure smooth production.
  • Material Change Overs: Perform material change overs of hoppers within cells to maintain production efficiency.
Technical Operations
  • Job Set-Ups: Perform job set-ups, including equipment, job kits, and labels, to ensure efficient production.
  • Diagnostics: Diagnose basic technical issues on auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Part Quality: Ensure ongoing part quality by monitoring and adjusting production processes.
  • Quality Software and Data Systems: Operate quality software and data systems to track production metrics.
  • Shotscope Software: Utilize Shotscope software to monitor jobs and optimize production.
General Cell Responsibilities
  • Supplying Materials: Supply boxes, pallets, scrap bins, and consumables from the queue to workstations within the cell.
  • Total Production Maintenance: Perform daily assessments of equipment condition and potential safety issues.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Report and document cell issues through work order requests and shift summaries.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Reconciling Job Part Volumes: Reconcile job part volumes in Oracle to ensure accurate production tracking.
  • Supporting Team Members: Support cell teammates with breaks and tasks as needed.
  • Visual Metrics: Monitor visual metrics and respond appropriately to optimize production.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 56 pounds safely, stand and walk continuously, and perform frequent endurance tasks.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including ability to use quality software and data systems.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend, and occasional overtime.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Stable Work History: Stable work history in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Self-Management: Ability to work well without supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Teamwork: Team-oriented person with a positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with others.
