POSITION SUMMARY

The Part-time Program Instructor is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the safety and supervision of Club members in various program areas. Under the direction of the Youth Development Supervisor, this role delivers high-quality programs and activities to Club members, utilizing the organization's mission, vision, and values to set members up for success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement programs and activities using a formal curriculum.
  • Directly run programming and high-yield activities in assigned areas.
  • Facilitate programming using various methods, including lecture, discussion, active games, and supervised role-playing.
  • Administer outcome measurement tools to assess program effectiveness.
  • Deliver programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Ensure program areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
  • Adhere to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale's policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making in emergency situations.
  • Maintain Club equipment and property to ensure they remain in good working order.
  • Use positive guidance and discipline techniques to redirect member behavior issues.
  • Utilize active supervision techniques when working with Club members.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and mirror the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale.
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth Development Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Passion for working with youth.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to the Club's changing needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite and comfort with adapting to new technology.
  • If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver's license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
  • Flawless ethics and integrity.
  • Safety-oriented mindset.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Direct youth programming experience.
  • Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
