We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Westside Family Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our healthcare providers and patients.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examination/visit, including initial preparation, assisting the provider during examinations, and cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including urine, blood, and tissue samples.
- Operate electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment and administer routine diagnostic tests.
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the provider.
- Provide education to patients regarding treatment procedures, medications, and diagnostic tests.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Perform and document point-of-care equipment testing daily.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of a medical assistant training program at an accredited institution.
- Basic life support certification.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software and electronic medical record software.
- Availability to work evenings until 9 p.m. and occasional Saturday mornings.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel independently between sites.
- Some advanced training/college courses in Allied Health, Science, Medical Assisting, or other healthcare-related fields.
- Medical Assistant certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) completed within 12 months of hire.
