Job SummaryThe Medical Assistant will be responsible for administering nursing care to patients in our medical office, as directed by our physicians and healthcare providers. This includes preparing patients for examinations, administering injections and medications, and maintaining accurate records of patient data.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations
- Administer injections and medications, dress wounds and incisions, and provide accurate information to patients
- Collect patient data and maintain records of vital statistics and physiological/biological information
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment, and maintain stock of supplies and medications
- Conduct specified laboratory tests and perform related tasks as directed
- Act as receptionist, perform secretarial duties, and communicate with insurance companies
- Communicate with managed care for prior authorizations and schedule procedures
- Respond to patient phone calls and messages, and educate patients on medications and treatment plans
We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant with:
- Active CMA or RMA Certification from an accredited association
- Successfully completed an accredited Associates Degree program in Medical Assisting or an accredited CMA program
- One year of clinical experience (preferred)
This position requires standing, sitting, walking, and kneeling/crouching. Lifting is occasionally required.
