We are seeking a highly qualified Teaching Specialist to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a Teaching Specialist, you will have the opportunity to teach a course per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level on topics such as Comparative and International Development Education, Education Policy and Leadership, Evaluation Studies, Higher Education, or Human Resource Development.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a course per semester at an undergraduate or graduate level.
- Prepare course materials, including syllabus.
- Grade student materials, including exams, papers, presentations, and final exams.
- Submit grades.
- Other duties as assigned.
Student Advising:
- Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, or in person.
- Evaluate student performance.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree relevant to the teaching assignment required for appointment as Teaching Specialist.
- A Doctorate or terminal degree relevant to the teaching assignment required for appointment as Lecturer.
- Previous teaching experience.
About the Department:
The Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) is home to five graduate-level programs: Comparative and International Development Education, Education Policy and Leadership, Evaluation Studies, Higher Education, and Human Resource Development. Our world is full of systems and policies that affect how individuals learn, grow, and relate to one another. OLPD studies how those systems and policies are shaped by culture and power. We prepare leaders and researchers to transform our education and organizations for the better.
