About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Chefs of Maine. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, as well as supervising and training our kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in the preparation and presentation of menu items
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide guidance and discipline as necessary
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation
  • Monitor inventory and ordering of supplies and food products
  • Schedule staff to ensure proper coverage and maintain payroll costs
  • Ensure compliance with Health Department regulations
  • Develop and maintain menu specifications, recipes, and production forecasts
  • Monitor production flow and make adjustments to ensure cost and quality control
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and in proper working condition
  • Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Kitchen Manager
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
