The Early Childhood Program Administrator will take on comprehensive responsibilities for the effectiveness of the Pre-K initiative. This role involves managing the daily functions of the program while providing guidance in both educational and developmental aspects. The Administrator will play a crucial role in nurturing staff to align with the objectives of the Pre-K initiative. Furthermore, the

Administrator will uphold institutional frameworks, operational policies, and ensure the maintenance of sound fiscal practices. In fostering a sense of community, the Early Childhood Program Administrator will establish channels for parents, educators, and administrators to freely share ideas, address concerns, and feel valued and respected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administration
  • Manages daily operations at the Early Childhood Center.
  • Ensures adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Guarantees compliance with early childhood education laws and regulations.
  • Facilitates effective communication between parents and teachers.
  • Acts as the intermediary between the Early Childhood Program and district leadership.
  • Takes responsibility for the program's budget as necessary.
Enrollment
  • Implements strategies to retain current students.
  • Conducts recruitment efforts to fill available slots.
  • Maintains a list of prospective students.
  • Oversees the registration process for the Early Childhood Program.
  • Promotes a positive image of the program to families.
Staff Management
  • Supervises and assesses all Early Childhood personnel.
  • Assists staff in establishing annual professional development objectives.
  • Conducts regular classroom evaluations and provides necessary coaching.
  • Identifies staffing needs at the Early Childhood Center.
  • Fosters a collaborative work environment.
  • Organizes professional development and training sessions.
  • Guides educators in curriculum implementation.
  • Supports teachers in conducting parent meetings and preparing reports.
Educational Leadership
  • Provides a vision for ongoing program enhancement by staying informed on early childhood education trends.
  • Guides faculty towards achieving educational excellence.
  • Oversees program assessments and instructional practices.
  • Collaborates with educators to design instructional activities.
  • Regularly visits classrooms to monitor student progress.
  • Leads initiatives regarding special education needs.
  • Maintains discipline procedures in a fair and respectful manner.
  • Adheres to district policies.
  • Offers support for behavioral and learning challenges in partnership with educators.
OTHER DUTIES:
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by district leadership.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • 12-Month Contract
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's (or Master's) Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of the Office of School Readiness (OSR) principles and practices
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience in early childhood education
  • Ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret educational materials and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to various groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emphasizing oral and written communication.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Ability to compute rates and ratios.
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to solve practical problems in diverse situations.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
  • Experience with crisis management policies.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficient in addressing concerns with sensitivity.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred: Instructional Leadership Certification/Administrative Certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate.
  • Frequently required to use hands for various tasks.
  • Occasionally required to sit or perform physical activities.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects as necessary.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Noise levels are typically moderate; occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
SALARY:
  • Salary computation will be based on verified previous experience and educational qualifications.
