Position Summary: The Project Manager for the Business Intelligence (BI) team will oversee the coordination and execution of multiple concurrent projects. This role requires daily interaction with the BI team to ensure the successful delivery of projects while promoting a collaborative and high-performance team culture. The BI Project Manager will collaborate closely with the BI Manager and project stakeholders to grasp project goals, communicate requirements effectively, and maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Coordination and Execution:

  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of BI projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and timely completion.
  • Continuously track project progress and provide regular updates on key metrics, including milestones and deliverables.
  • Optimize resource management to ensure successful project delivery.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Collaborate with data and BI engineering team members to clarify project tasks and eliminate obstacles.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team, across departments, and with leadership to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct team meetings to communicate project objectives, expectations, and priorities clearly.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Regularly update stakeholders and BI leadership on project status, developments, and outcomes.
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders to ensure their requirements are addressed throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Risk Management:

  • Identify and address project risks, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Monitor project risks and collaborate with team members to implement necessary risk management strategies.

5. Data Quality and Governance:

  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of data from source systems feeding BI tools.
  • Verify that project deliverables meet established quality standards and business objectives.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful elements for future reference.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including requirements, plans, progress reports, and issue logs.
  • Ensure that proper technical documentation is upheld by the BI team throughout the data and BI processes, from ingestion to modeling and visualization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; or PMP certification with a minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience, preferably in a BI or IT context.
  • Previous experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or BI engineer.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar, along with knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Jira project management software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong inclination towards data-driven solutions.
