Role Summary:

In this role, you will operate under general supervision, executing advanced accounting and assurance tasks while leading a team of junior staff. This position involves planning, budgeting, and executing engagements, delegating responsibilities, and delivering high-quality reports. A deep understanding of advanced accounting principles, typically gained through experience as a Senior Associate, is essential, along with the ability to manage diverse business functions, maintain positive client relationships, and produce exemplary results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, manage, and hold team members accountable.
  2. Engage in growth processes and participate in relevant initiatives.
  3. Oversee engagements, ensuring adherence to quality control standards.
  4. Maintain client satisfaction through timely communication and meeting deadlines.
  5. Develop the engagement team by preparing staff for advancement.

Essential Functions:

  1. Exhibit technical expertise and management skills to plan, budget, and oversee complete audit and client engagements, ensuring compliance with MGO's policies and practices.
  2. Demonstrate project management capabilities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  3. Supervise junior associates, providing constructive feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  4. Resolve technical and client service issues independently.
  5. Identify opportunities for additional client services.
  6. Monitor engagement yields and pursue cost-saving initiatives.
  7. Prepare billing documentation in accordance with firm protocols and maintain client communication for satisfaction and retention.
  8. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management, and clients.
  9. Act as a mentor to junior associates.
  10. Engage actively in professional associations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in public or corporate accounting, with at least 1 to 2 years as a Senior Associate.
  2. Proven ability to assign tasks, guide team members, and complete projects within budget and deadlines.
  3. Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent coursework.
  4. Demonstrated effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with direct reports and clients.
