About the Position

This is an open-rank faculty position at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, residing in the Adams School of Dentistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and growing a cutting-edge, independent, yet collaborative, research program focused on biomedical science, cariology, microbiology, or associated fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, direct, and lead teams in a cutting-edge, independent, yet collaborative, research program.
  • Seek and acquire extramural funding to support a robust research program.
  • Supervise Adams School of Dentistry students in research, discovery, and innovation as applicable.
  • Work with the Chair of the identified department in delivering education focused on their field of expertise.
  • Serve on committees and boards within and outside the UNC Adams School of Dentistry, including thesis and dissertation committees.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Represent the School to internal and external constituencies as appropriate.
Requirements
  • DMD, DDS, and/or PhD or equivalent degree.
  • Evidence of a productive research program and/or other scholarly activities.
  • Success in acquiring extramural funding for research, discovery, and innovation.
  • Peer-reviewed publications of research and/or other scholarly activities.
  • Evidence of a willingness to mentor students in their scholarly endeavors and participate in delivering content in lectures and seminars in their field of expertise.
