Job Purpose:


The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is tasked with providing strategic leadership and organization for Engineering, Maintenance, MRO, and Quality, with the primary goal of maximizing production efficiency while adhering to cost objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the capital budget and nurture technical talent within the team.
2. Ensure that plant facilities and production equipment are maintained to high standards.
3. Manage the plant's Capital Budget effectively.
4. Collaborate with technical and operational teams to identify opportunities for capital deployment.
5. Submit Capital Asset Requests and coordinate capital activities.
6. Provide engineering support to sustain plant production levels.
7. Facilitate communication and implementation of manufacturing and technical initiatives.
8. Manage budgets that encompass technical group salaries, maintenance materials, and utilities.
9. Identify capital improvements to assist the plant in meeting budgetary goals.
10. Develop strong cross-functional teams to foster synergy across technical and operational groups.
11. Responsible for hiring, performance management, and employee development.
12. Maintain high standards of housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment.
13. Communicate effectively with operators and plant supervision.
14. Promptly address and report safety concerns.
15. Uphold an excellent safety and attendance record.
16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience Required:
1. Proven industrial maintenance experience.

2. Minimum of seven (7) years in a manufacturing environment and engineering field, with a successful track record in similar roles.

3. Demonstrated project and process management skills.
4. At least five (5) years of leadership and management experience.
5. Proven self-compliance with company policies and procedures.
6. Familiarity with continuous improvement tools such as 6S and A3.
7. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); familiarity with Maintenance Connection and SAP is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
This position is situated in a manufacturing environment.

Physical requirements include:
1. Standing for extended periods (frequent).
2. Sitting for long durations (frequent).
3. Climbing stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional).
4. Working in varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels above 85 dBA (frequent).

Working Conditions:
The individual in this role must be available on an on-call basis.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.

BA/BS degree in engineering preferred.
