Budget Scope: Responsible for preparing and overseeing the budget for the Maintenance department.

General Overview: Accountable for strategizing, coordinating, directing, and executing the maintenance operations for production and yard activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify necessary actions to uphold the facility and processing machinery in accordance with FDA, OSHA, and EPA regulations as well as company standards.
  • Serves as the Chairperson of the Employee Safety Committee and participates in the Food Safety/HACCP Team and the Crisis Management Team.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Operations to devise and execute new or enhanced products and processes.
  • Establishes project requirements for external contractors related to equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Defines the operational parameters of the Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Maintains a stock of essential equipment parts to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversees the purchasing process for equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Acts as the primary contact for computer and Information Technology systems.
  • As a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team, ensures that root cause analysis and corrective actions, as stipulated by the HACCP Team, are executed.
  • Enhances professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, engaging with suppliers and contractors, and building personal technical networks.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 15 to 20 years of experience in the food industry, including supervisory roles.
  • Exceptional communication and management abilities are essential.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMI, conveyors, wastewater treatment/management, dicing, and washing equipment.
  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis.
Relationships: Equipment suppliers and manufacturers, maintenance support teams, information technology contractors, and all company departments.
