Starting Hourly Pay: $17.69

Position Summary

The Unarmed Security Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding and patrolling NATIVE HEALTH facilities. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for monitoring and securing all buildings and properties. A visible presence is maintained both inside and outside to deter theft, vandalism, and property damage. This role involves overseeing traffic at the main entrance, assisting patients, and ensuring the safety of employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct regular patrols of the premises, actively observing and monitoring all visitors, and addressing any suspicious activities in accordance with organizational policies.
  2. Manage and authorize the entry and exit of patients, visitors, and other individuals to uphold the security of the entire facility.
  3. Engage with visitors, patrons, and staff to maintain order and protect property, including doors, windows, and stairways.
  4. Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances promptly.
  5. Act swiftly in medical emergencies, bomb threats, and fire alarms.
  6. Address trespassers and transients, requesting them to vacate the premises when necessary, and document all incidents appropriately.
  7. Provide excellent customer service by assisting individuals with information and directing communication.
  8. Escort individuals (patients, staff, clients, etc.) to their vehicles upon request.
  9. Participate in emergency preparedness, including assisting in the evacuation of the facility when required, and checking safety equipment during patrols.
  10. Collaborate with emergency personnel during emergencies, ensuring clear pathways and providing necessary assistance.
  11. Work alongside the Safety Committee to stay informed on safety and emergency preparedness principles, aiding employees and clients during emergencies.
  12. Report and address any building damage or maintenance issues promptly.
  13. Exhibit understanding and application of safety policies to ensure safe practices.
  14. Perform all duties safely, adhering to protective protocols for personal and others' safety.
  15. Engage in quality improvement initiatives aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  17. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
  18. Consistently display cooperative behavior with supervisors, colleagues, clients, and the community.
  19. Document any illegal dumping incidents, noting vehicle details for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
  1. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  2. High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  3. Possession of a Security Guard Card or willingness to obtain one within six months of hire.
  4. Flexible availability, including weekends.
  5. Successful completion of a criminal background check within the first ninety days of employment.
  6. Pass a substance abuse screening upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
  7. Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  8. Annual OSHA training is mandatory.
  9. Must provide Tuberculosis (TB) skin test and physical clearance prior to starting.
  10. Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within ninety days of employment.
  11. Ability to follow instructions and maintain excellent work ethic and attendance standards.
  12. Capable of working independently and lifting up to 50 lbs. with ease.
  13. Ability to bend, stand, climb ladders, and reach as needed.
