Job SummaryThe General Manager - Sports Operations is responsible for the financial and operating performance of the facility. Key objectives include optimizing overall profitability, creating a positive relationship with clients and stakeholders, and meeting or exceeding annual growth objectives.
Responsibilities- Analyze operations to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
- Appoint department heads and assign responsibilities
- Confer with ownership and staff to discuss issues and coordinate activities
- Coordinate budgetary control systems and administrative processes
- Direct financial and budget activities to maximize investments and increase efficiency
- Direct human resources activities, including selection and establishment of departments
- Implement policies, objectives, and activities to ensure continuing operations and maximize returns
- Prepare and present reports concerning activities, expenses, and budgets
- Represent the organization and promote its objectives at official functions
- Diamond sports experience preferred
- Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight of $1MM or greater
- Proven experience in organizing, booking, and operating sports tournaments and events
- Operational knowledge of F&B, entertainment, and sports clubs
- Experience working with convention & visitor bureaus, regional sports commissions, and/or regional event management booking
- A minimum of 7 years of management experience
- Sports programming and sports event operations expertise required
- Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, or equivalent experience
- Minimal travel
- Will be required to sit for extended periods operating a computer
- Office and facility have intermittent noise
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
